Sometimes the nicest jobs come along for bittersweet reasons...
This is definitely one of those.
We are recruiting for a practice we have worked with for years, and towards the end of the year, they will be saying goodbye to their wonderful Dental Hygienist after 8 years.
What's lovely about her story is that she actually started with the practice as a dental nurse before qualifying as a Dental Hygienist. She's built her career there, and it's been brilliant to see.
The only reason she's leaving is because she's been commuting an hour and a half each way for years, and she's finally decided it's time to find something closer to home. I don't think anyone could blame her!
When I asked her what she loved most about working there, she laughed and said, "I'm spoiled!"
So, of course, I asked, "What do you mean by spoiled?"
She said, "They've always made sure I have everything I need to do my job properly."
The practice invested in an EMS Airflow Prophylaxis Master, bought her custom loupes, and has always supported her in delivering the highest standard of patient care. She also admitted she's been very well looked after financially over the years.
For us at IDJ, that's a huge endorsement. Equipment like that isn't cheap, and practices only make those kinds of investments when they genuinely value their clinicians.
People don't stay somewhere for eight years by accident.
So now, we're looking for the next Dental Hygienist to join this fantastic team.
Ideally, they're hoping to find someone who can work five days a week, but if you're looking for four days, we would still love to hear from you because finding the right person is far more important than ticking every box.
