Paediatric Dentist

Location: South Dublin
Position: Permanent 2 days a week| Flexible Working Hours

Join Ireland's Award-Winning Private Dental Practice

Our clien is Ireland's only Dental Practice of the Year 2025 (Private Healthcare Awards) and one of the country's leading private multidisciplinary dental clinics. Established in 2007, they now operate two purpose-built, state-of-the-art clinics in South Dublin, delivering exceptional patient care in a fully private environment.

With a team of more than 50 professionals, including general dentists, specialist clinicians, hygienists, orthodontists, dental nurses, treatment coordinators and dedicated practice support staff, we've created an environment where clinicians can focus entirely on providing outstanding dentistry while every aspect of the patient journey is supported by an experienced team.

As their practice continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Paediatric Dentist to lead and develop children's dentistry across both locations.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to establish and grow paediatric dentistry within one of Ireland's most progressive private dental groups.

You will provide comprehensive dental care for children, from first dental visits and preventive care through to restorative treatment and behaviour management, ensuring every child enjoys a positive dental experience while building relationships that continue into adulthood.

A key aspect of the role is working closely with their established orthodontic team of three clinicians, managing interceptive and mixed dentition cases, coordinating referrals and collaborating on shared treatment plans to provide a seamless experience for patients and their families.

What Makes them Different?

Unlike many practices, they operate a genuine clinician-led model.

Their philosophy is simple: the patient always chooses. There is never any pressure to sell treatment or meet targets. Clinical decisions remain entirely yours, allowing you to focus on delivering the highest standard of care.

You'll benefit from:

  • Award-winning, fully private multidisciplinary practice.
  • Two modern, purpose-built South Dublin clinics with over 20 surgeries.
  • Fully digital workflow including CBCT, intraoral scanners, AI-assisted radiography and an in-house photography suite.
  • Dedicated dental nurse for every clinician.
  • Treatment coordinators who prepare and guide patients throughout their journey.
  • Strong internal referral network across general dentistry, orthodontics, implants and cosmetic dentistry.
  • Long appointment times that allow quality, relationship-focused dentistry.
  • Comprehensive administrative support so clinicians spend their time treating patients rather than managing paperwork.
  • Structured clinical governance and documentation support.
  • Experienced colleagues available for mentoring and case discussion.
  • Marketing support to help build your professional profile.
  • Ongoing CPD support and genuine long-term career development opportunities.
  • Excellent accessibility with parking at both clinics.

Candidate Profile

We're looking for someone who is passionate about children's dentistry and enjoys building long-term relationships with families.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Warm, approachable and naturally able to put children and anxious parents at ease.
  • Passionate about prevention and minimally invasive dentistry.
  • A collaborative clinician who enjoys working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Confident communicating with colleagues and coordinating shared care alongside our orthodontic team.
  • Motivated to help grow and shape paediatric dentistry within a leading private practice.

Essential Requirements

  • Registration with the Irish Dental Council.
  • Primary dental qualification (BDS, BDentSc or equivalent).
  • Experience treating paediatric patients through specialist training, hospital experience or significant general practice experience with children.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Experience providing preventive and restorative care for primary and mixed dentition.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with our orthodontic team.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification or additional training in Paediatric Dentistry (MFD/MFDS, MSc, DClinDent or equivalent).
  • Hospital-based paediatric dentistry experience.
  • Certification or experience in inhalation sedation or IV sedation.
  • Experience managing referral pathways for treatment under general anaesthetic.

Remuneration

Competitive remuneration package with percentage-based earnings supported by guaranteed minimum income, together with flexible working arrangements.

Why Join?

Parents who trust our client for implants, cosmetic dentistry and family care naturally bring their children to Seapoint Clinic, creating an established and continually growing paediatric patient base built through internal referrals rather than external marketing.

This is an opportunity to build a long-term career within one of Ireland's most respected private dental practices, working alongside experienced colleagues in a supportive, collaborative environment where clinical excellence is genuinely valued.
