A Senior Radiographer is ideally required for this role however if you are qualified in Radiography and you have a few years experience in this area we would very much like to hear from you too. The person appointed to this post will work within the Integrated Services Directorate; working as part of multi-disciplinary teams delivering a coordinated approach to client care. The service provides orthodontic treatment to eligible public patients. Patients are assessed for a public treatment place against a set of clinical criteria which is based on the internationally recognised Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need. Patients are referred to the service by the primary dental care service, most patients in treatment are under 16 years of age.
The treatment is provided by a multidisciplinary team including Consultant Orthodontists and Specialist Orthodontists who are supported by dental nurses and administrative staff. The Senior Radiographer post plays a key role in recording accurate clinical records for patients. A number of multidisciplinary patients also receive their treatment in the department and joint clinics are held with Consultants in Oral and Maxillo-facial Surgery (orthognathic patients) and a Consultant in Special Needs Restorative Dentistry (hypodontia patients).
The Senior Radiographer will be primarily responsible for performing dental and CBCT dental radiology to a high standard of technical quality in a caring and efficient manner and in line with established guidelines and operating procedures. You will need to be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Radiography Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU.
